Its now to for another round of kicking, punching, screaming, and throwing energy blasts so large people will think your trying to compensate for something. That’s right! It’s another Dragon Ball Z game brought to us by the good people at Atari. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is the second installment of the DragonBall Z Tenkaichi Budokai series that was introduced last year. The Tenkaichi series is a departure from your typical fighting game, as its more like a DBZ simulator than your typical fighter. This of course had its ups and downs and thankfully this game addresses many of the issues and problems that plagued the first one. While there are still some problems to this one, though very minor, this game is the closest we will come to actually fighting as Goku, Vegeta, or whoever your favorite DBZ character is.

Story 8/10

First, the story. The good thing is it combines all the episodes and movie story lines including the GT series as they progressed. The story mode is very long and will take you a while to complete. I clocked my self at beating it 100% on hard mode at 9 hours. For a fighting game story mode with my playing ability, that’s long because fighting games are my genre of choice. It also adds "what if" story lines, where a certain character will receive a major role to play changing the time line and history of the DBZ universe…something they have practice in. Although I find that as an amusing and fun addition, it isn't very impressive because only 3 of them don’t take long to finish. The use of in-game graphic cut scene is simply beautiful and recreates key moments nearly exactly. I’ll go into more detail on this in the graphics portion later on. Once again like most if not all DragonBall Z games follows the standard formula of start out in the Saiya-jin series and end in the Buu saga, then go into GT. Which once again is great for DragonBall Z fans, what really impressed me was that they added all movies with the exception of 2 into the game.
