You know at some point, my soul is going to be little ashes. Why you might ask? Well, those crazy people at Sony turned up the heat and just released Bleach Heat the Soul 4 for the PSP. Much like the previous titles in the series, the game boasts an enhanced roster of both playable characters and battle partners. The game has expanded story mode and had near complete overhaul of the battle system. But with all these changes can Ichigo and the gang maintain that pedestal excellence that was obtained from Heat the Soul 3? Or has the soul of the game series finally burned out?
Story 10/10
Let's recap the Bleach: Heat the Soul story for those unfamiliar with it. The Bleach story is brought to us by Kubo Tito, about high school student/death God Ichigo Kurosaki. Now the actual story that takes place within the game itself is set directly after the events in the Soul Society, or the story presented in Heat the Soul 3. After Ichigo and the gang return from the Soul Society successfully rescuing Rukia and nice twist from a trusted captain gone rogue, things have settled down. Then naturally all hell breaks loose as Ichigo has to deal with his own inner demons and a new evil immerges stronger than anything he and his friends have faced in the Soul Society. Over the course of the game you’ll meet various people you will recognize from the last game with lots of new faces. As with Heat the Soul 3, I dare not go any further, risking spoiling the anime or manga for those that haven’t read or seen it.
