Once again I find myself waiting in line with a bunch of kids waiting to get my hands on my copy of Madden 08 at midnight. I look around wondering….what’s a 26 year old doing in a game store? Should I start to face reality and grow up and focus on my career?.At this very moment in thought I get handed my copy of Madden 08 and I feel like a kid again racing out the door! MARK MY WORDS FELLOW GAMERS “YOU GROW UP TO GIVE UP!!”

Graphics 9/10

Graphics….Ohhhh what sweet, sweet graphics! Madden 08 has undergone extensive gameplay and visual improvements from the Madden 07 game. While I was playing I was trying my best to find something wrong so I can write about it in my review. And well, I failed. The graphics just run so smooth now and little to no glitches were found. Another thing I wanted to point out is the new improved animation system. When you are tackled now it’s not just a non-human computer fall, you actually struggle to get out of it. You are now able to push and pull and fight your way out of it like a real tackle. I found this more enjoyable because the old style of play was when you were tackled that was basically it. Now you have a fighting chance to break it.

Controls 8/10

All and all the controls are the same as they always have been. A few new mechanics like the ball strip and “hurdle control” which is implemented by, you guessed it, hitting the hurdle button. And to be honest I don’t think they can really improve the controls of the game. Its overall a pretty comfortable experience once you know what you are doing and learn the buttons needed to play.
